what is road ecology?

Road Ecology is the study of the interactions between the environment and roads. Roads are a familiar part of our landscape today, but they present threats to our natural world, including:

  • Habitat loss
  • Direct mortality
  • Inaccessibility to resources
  • Population subdivision
